Pioneer Drive-In

One of several Peoria drive-in theaters around Peoria, the Pioneer Drive-In opened on September 6, 1964 with Jack Lemmon in “The Days of Wine and Roses” & Joanne Woodward in “The Stripper”. Like most (if not all) of Peoria’s outdoor theaters, it was part of the Kerasotes chain. The theater was showing mostly adult films by the time it closed about 1983. It was demolished in 1998.
