Oakwood Cinema

Located in Carrigaline, County Cork. The 400-seat Oakwood Cinema opened on 26th December 1958 by car dealer and film fan Booby Cogan in what looked like a great big shed. Its opening film was Ingrid Bergman in “Anastasia”. It is likely it closed in the early-1990’s as the last set of accounts were filed in 1994 and the company dissolved. The family is still involved in the car business in the town. The site is now occupied by the local library.
