Opened as the Dox Theater in 1932, this theater sat just under 400. It was renamed the Studio 1 Theater in July 1951. It was renamed the Astro Theater on July 4, 1969 and screened adult movies. It closed later in 1969.

This item is from the October 19, 1932, issue of The Film Daily:

“Detroit — Claude A. Dock has opened the Dox, a new house and the third one built in the northwestern part of the city this year. It seats 400.”
