The second FilmScene in Iowa City opened September 20, 2019, with “Downton Abbey", “Field Of Dreams", “Cinema Paradiso”, and “The Blob" playing through the weekend.
The nonprofit cinema, located in the new Chauncey building, has three screens seating 117, 65, and 30, with films screened in digital, 35mm, and 16mm.
The first FilmScene at The Ped Mall, which opened in 2013, will continue to operate. The Gazette of Cedar Rapids notes that in 2018 membership was 1,277 with an attendance of 46,059.
Rohrbach Associates PC Architects designed the 15-story Chauncey Building.
