On January 17, 1951, Boxoffice reported, “Eddie Dean, western star, made a guest appearance at the opening of the new Twin Drive-In, 3700 West Van Buren Street, last week. It is operated by Wade Allen. The two-faced screen, offering double bills, is placed in the center of the area. The drive-in has ponies, swings and a train for youngsters to ride”.

The 1957 Motion Picture Almanac listed the Twin Open Air Drive-In with a capacity of 1,500 cars, owner Michael A. Parker.

Aerial photos place the Twin Drive-In at the modern-day address of 401 N 37th Drive. They show the site intact as of 1980 but in disrepair by 1982.

Boxoffice, Feb. 16, 1952: Arizona’s first 1952 theatre casualty is the Twin Screen Drive-In, which closed recently after a year of operation. The outdoorer, a McCormack-Nace enterprise, was the largest in this area."
