The Capitol Theatre opened on February 12th, 1949 with Cary Grant in “Night and Day” and Bob Hope in “Where There’s Life”. In 1986 it was taken over by Cineplex Odeon and closed on May 14, 1997 when Cinema 9 opened in the Rock Forest district. Since demolished, apartments have been built on the site.
