Cowboy Drive-In

Billboard noted on March 15, 1952: “Roy Pringle has announced plans for the construction of a new drive-in at Fabens, Tex”. It was opened on May 31, 1952 with Jane Russell in “Double Dynamite”. It was operated b y C.M. Garrett.

A 1955 aerial photo shows a drive-in immediately northwest of Fabens, to the south of El Paso, on the west side of Socorro Road near its intersection with Alameda Avenue. It was included in a 1959 topo map, but absent from a 1968 topo map.

The 1955-56 Theatre Catalog listed the Cowboy under Fabens, capacity 300, owner J. Birdwell.
