Billboard wrote on September 13, 1952, “A. I. Garson, of St. John, N. B., has opened a drive-in near New Glasgow, N. S., with a capacity of about 400 cars”.

The 1955 Motion Picture Almanac listed the Highland Drive-In in New Glasgow, owned by Odeon Theatres (Canada) Ltd.
