Cine el Centro

The Cine el Centro is located in the Centro Comercial el Centro on the Avenida. de Europa on the ground floor level. It is a relatively modern building dating from, I guess, the 1980’s but has been closed since the early-2000’s.

The foyer at that time looked like the cinematic equivalent of the Marie Celeste as the building was not cleared up after the last show. Popcorn and drinks cartons, leaflets, film posters etc were all still in place.

Doors to the single level auditorium are open and a few rows of seats could be seen, with the normal debris under the seats found at most movie houses at the end of the night.

If the Cine el Centro was not so run down I expect it would have been converted to retail use - but at the time, the Cine el Centro looked like it will remain in limbo. In November 2012, the former Cine el Centro was operating as a nightclub named Melany.
