The Monarch Theater opened in 1914. On May 29, 1914 the manager Leo G. Goldman was shot dead by robbers as he made his way home. He had $30 on him, but the gunmen fled empty handed. The Monarch Theatre was closed around 1928, and the building was later demolished.
