Cinema Rond-Point

The Cinema Rond-Point was opened on 10th April 1956 with Van Heflin in “Battle Cry”. Seating was provided on a stadium plan, with a raised stepped section at the rear rather than the usual overhanging balcony. The cinema was also used for occasional concerts when artistes such as John Cale & Nico would perform. It was closed in late-1975 and was later demolished.

An apartment block with retail at ground floor level now stands on the site.
