The Liberty Theatre opened August 3, 1918, featuring an advertisement in the Gate City Journal of the opening film, Jack Pickford in “The Spirit Of ‘17'”.
Listed in Film Daily Year Book with 200 seats, the Liberty Theatre closed in 1937 when the new Nyssa Theatre opened.
Another theatre listed in the Journal was the Cozy Theatre on 2nd Street, which closed when the Liberty Theatre opened.
