Located in the Maryhill district to the northwest of the city centre, at the corner of Maryhill Road and Trossachs Street. The Blythswood Picture House was opened on 19th December 1927 by the Blythswood Picture House Ltd. Seating was on a stadium plan with a small raised stepped section at the rear rather than a conventional circle. The proscenium was 30ft wide. Around 1929 it was equipped with a RCA sound system. It was closed on 10th August 1972 and was converted into an independent J&S Bingo Club. It was demolished in 1980 and a block of flats have been built on the site.
