AMC Fiesta Village 6

AMC Theatres opened Mesa’s first multi-screen theater, the Fiesta Village 6 on November 21, 1980 as a 6-screener, and remained as a 6-screener for the rest of the theater’s life. Nearby, the Fiesta Village 6 is located not too far away from the Mesa/Tempe border, which the Lakes 6 in Tempe is located a mile apart from the Fiesta Village.

There are no chain changes at all to the Fiesta Village 6 since it remained as an AMC theater until its closure. Dick Walsh, AMC’s Western Division President recommended that “the increased competition in the marketplace had been leading into a decision”. He added that “they are just not profitable anymore” due to the growth of expandable 15+ screened locations building in the Phoenix area. This led to the death of the AMC Sun Valley 10 in Mesa, AMC Metro Village 6 in Phoenix, AMC Lakes 6 in Tempe, and the AMC Fiesta Village 6 in Mesa, which all closed on April 29, 1999. The AMC Fiesta Village 6 was demolished in 2020 and apartments have been built on the site.

In 2020, the Fiesta Village 6, as well as the Shopping Center is demolished. Today, the apartment complex sits on that site.
