The Pastime Theatre was opened in 1924. Seating was provided in orchestra and balcony levels. The Statesville Theater Corp. owners of the new Appalachian Theatre, which opened in November 1938, were also operating the Pastime Theatre. It was closed as a movie theatre in 1955, but continued to operate with live Country & Western gigs until finally closing in 1958. In 1960 it was gutted and converted into office space.
