Queen's Cinema

In Ramsgate, Kent, a Constitutional Club and Post Office was converted into the Queen’s Electric Theatre, which opened on 17th July 1911.

The ground floor foyer led into a single floor auditorium that had been built out from the back of the building.

At some time it was renamed the Queen’s Cinema, which closed in 1927, presumably deciding not to wire the cinema for sound.

The building was acquired by the Ramsgate & District Electricity Supply Company, and the former auditorium was used to display electrical goods.

It has since been demolished as part of the creation of the Argyle [shopping] Centre.
