Movies screened in Penguin by a Mr Stokes & Barnes in a venue not known from circa mid to late-1920’s. Penguin Town Hall opened on 19th September 1935. Movie screenings started in December 1935 with Cecil Kellaway in “Hayseeds”. Movie screenings ceased in the mid-1960’s The Penguin Town Hall was demolished in 1986. The site is now the Penguin Visitor Information Centre.
