Dreamland Theatre

This small theatre appears on the 1910 Sanborn, in the ground floor of a three story brick structure constructed sometime between 1886 and 1894, and which had originally housed a hardware store. A wooden shed at the rear housed the gas engine and dynamo used to power the operation.

The Dreamland Theatre was still open in 1914-1915 but was was less successful than the other small downtown operations, and by 1926 the building was again used as retail. The structure remains on the 1955 map, but was demolished some time ago, and the site is now a rather desolate little park.
