The Empire Theatre began life as a café, soon becoming the Empire Cinema in January 1913. It was remodelled in a Streamline Moderne style by architects Pierre de Montaut & Adrienne Gorska and reopened as the Cineac-Petit Marseillais on 5th July 1935, operating as a newsreel cinema. A closing date is not know, but the cinema has been demolished.
