The Carrollton Theatre was designed by architect John F. Kunkel in 1908. It was operated by Hood & Schultz between 1908 to 1913. Listed in the Baltimore City Directory by 1914, and also in the 1914-1915 American Motion Picture Directory. It was most likely a conversion or two of the three storefronts in an old commercial building. It was closed in 1915.

Today the site is occupied by a temple-style bank building characteristic of the 1920’s, so the theatre was probably gone by that decade. The house was just off Carrollton Street and across Baltimore Street from the Black Cat Theatre, later operated as the Solax Theatre, which survived into the later 1920’s, so the Carrollton Theatre probably wasn’t missed.
