At 10.30 a.m., fifteen minutes after the doors opened on the first day of “Cain & Mabel” – Friday 4th February 1937, queues stretched south down George Street past the Trocadero, and also north around into Bathurst Street. Top right is reproduced a 24-sheeter poster used extensively to promote this attraction.
