Airdome Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1912 map. The structure is rather more substantial than typical airdrome’s, with a small wooden building at the front serving as the ticket office. This was attached to the modest wooden home that had been there previously, so the entry was offset to the east, and the seating area began well back of the street, behind the house.

The seating area was the full width of the lot, and a substantial tin-clad wooden stage/screen structure was located at the rear. It is likely that this theatre was associated with the Family Theatre next door, for summer use.

This theatre was replaced in 1919 by a large commercial building constructed as a furniture store, which remains today.
