The Auditorium Theatre opened February 21, 1920, with Mary Pickford in “The Hoodlum”. On May 16, 1922, the Modesto Evening News reported the opening of the New Auditorium Theatre, again with Mary Pickford in “Daddy Long Legs” and Harold Lloyd in “Haunted Spooks”. William J. Voss was listed as manager and the opening night was taxed to capacity.

The Modesto Bee on June 20, 2004, noted the Auditorium Theatre was built as a hall in 1911, was converted to a movie theater with 1,800 seats and became a ballroom-skating rink in 1936 and burned in 1978.

Sanborn Maps 1919 show the Auditorium Theatre at 614 I Street and in 1950 as a skating rink. Today it would be the parking lot next to the Revival Center.
