Opera House

This theatre appears on the 1914 Sanborn, in a very basic tin-clad wooden building that was constructed between 1903 and 1909 as a feed warehouse.

To convert it to a theatre, small wings were added at the rear, to either side of the stage.

No later maps are available, but this was likely not able to compete against the much more substantial Arcadia/Joy Theatre, which opened in 1922. The entire block has been demolished and replaced by a rambling school board office which may be from the 1960’s or 1970’s.
