Located in the Elizabethville district of Birtley, 4 miles south of Gateshead, County Durham. The Albert Cinema was in a wooden building left vacant by departing Belgium refugees in 1919, It opened on 15th December 1921 and was operated by Augustine Deveraux, formerly manager of the Empire theatre, Newcastle upon Tyne. It was a short lived venture as the Albert Cinema was closed in 1923.
