This the first of two Capitol Theatre’s in Clarksville, TN. It was opened on November 17, 1928 with Hoot Gibson in “Clearing the Trail”. The official opening was on November 19, 1928 with Mary Pickford in “My Best Girl”. It was destroyed by fire in 1935.
A Nu-Capitol Theatre was built across the street which opened on April 30, 1936 (which has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
