The Hi-Way 17 Drive-In was opened by 1948 when it was listed as a ‘portable’ theatre. It was operated by M.L. Abrahams, who operated the Palace Theatre in downtown Georgetown. In 1955 it was renamed Carolina Drive-In, still operated by M.L. Abrahams. In 1956 it was operating as the Carolina Hi-Way 17 Drive-In. In 1957 it was listed as the Hi-Way 17 Drive-In again. By 1958 and thru at least 1970 it was double listed as the Carolina Drive-In & Hi-Way 17 Drive-In.

It has since been demolished and Food Lion supermarket now operates on the site.
