Playhouse Cinema

Located in Innerleithen, Peeblesshire on the Scottish Borders. Originally built as a Masonic Lodge in 1877 named The Cleikum Mill. The 600-seat Cinema was opened by 1937 when it was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system. By 1944 it was operating as the New Cinema, operated by J. McCallum. By 1948 it was operating as the 630-seat New Cinema, operated by the Caledonian Associated Cinemas Ltd. chain. It was equipped with a G.B. Kalee sound system. The proscenium was 20ft wide.

By 1966 it had been renamed Playhouse Cinema and was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. CAC Cinemas had closed the Playhouse Cinema by 1969.

By 2022 an extension had been built at the rear and the building was operating as a hotel named Cleikum Hall Lodge.
