The Crescent Drive-In Theatre opened November 12, 1954, with Richard Widmark in “Hell and High Water”. The High Point Enterprise advertisement gave the location as U.S. 29-70 between Thomasville and High Point at county line.

The Crescent Drive-In was advertised in the Enterprise as located on Thomasville Road until December 9, 1961.

In a history of drive-in movies published in August 2015 the Enterprise reported the Crescent Drive-In was opened by C.W. Grubb who took his equipment from his closed Moon-Glo Drive-In in High Point to open the Crescent Drive-In.

The drive-in appears intact in a 1957 aerial, but by 1965 the screen was gone. The projection booth/concession stand last appeared in a 1968 aerial, but was gone by 1983.

Today, the area is mostly private property with businesses that line its east side. There is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
