The Fakel Cinema, the 88-seating capacity single-screen theater known in English as Torch Cinema, was located near the Aviamotornaya Station in the eastern region of Lefortovo and opened its doors on August 3, 1958.

Despite its run on Russian and foreign first-run and independent films including American films, it was notably enough for its film festivals. This includes screenings within film clubs, meetings with film critics, and people who worked with the film. The Fakel Cinema was also equipped with Russian subtitles whenever a film in its original language (including American films) was shown.
