Located in the Queensgate Shopping Centre, Lower Hutt. The Event Cinemas Queensgate opened December 15, 2022 on the site of the previous Event Cinemas, which was closed and demolished after the November 2016 Kaikoura earthquake.
The seven-screen cinema with 4K laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound includes a 334-seat, 75-foot IMAX screen with lazar projection, coincided to open with the release of “Avatar: The Way Of Water”.
Patron comforts include electric recliners with food and drink delivery, double daybeds, gaming arcade and a café with bar.
