Strand Theatre

This was a fairly small theatre in the Botany Village section of Clifton. The Strand Theatre was opened on November 21, 1921 with Charles Ray in “Scrap Iron” & Larry Seamon in “The Hick”. It later played sub-run double features. (It would usually get the films a few weeks after the main theatres in Passaic had played them.). The Strand Theatre was closed in 1950.

The building still stands in multiple retail use.

If the Allwood theater closes, then it will join this theater and the Clifton one as the last of a dying breed.
