When it was published in the next day’s Daily Oklahoman, the caption was, “Firemen douse flames at tall building at site of abandoned drive-in theater at NE 58 and Grand Blvd. Thursday afternoon. George Rummel, deputy fire chief, said children playing in the area may have started the fire. No loss was placed on the building because it was already scheduled for demolition.
