ANN ARBOR, MI — Blues legend B.B. King will be performing at the Michigan Theatre on Wednesday, December 8. The e-mail I received from the Michigan Theatre follows:

“Dear Friend:

Even though we consider the Michigan Theater a palace, it’s not everyday that we have the opportunity to entertain royalty within our walls. This season we have that chance! On Wednesday, December 8 we are fortunate to host a concert by the undisputed King of the Blues, B.B. King.

“Better yet, in honor of Mr. King’s first Ann Arbor appearance in more than five years, we are celebrating with a party! As a Michigan Theater supporter, you are among a select group we
wish to invite to an exclusive pre-concert dinner in the grand foyer of the Michigan Theater.

Here is what you will receive:

  • Premium seating to the B.B. King concert, without the waiting, the lines and the service charges.
  • A fabulous Memphis-style Bar-B-Q, complete with all bar beverages, catered by Smokehouse Blues.
  • Recognition in the event program
  • You may be selected to win a post-concert backstage visit with B.B.King himself, a membership in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or other prizes.

In addition, you will be supporting the theater’s new “Legends of Rock & Roll” series, an annual program featuring the true giants of contemporary American music of the late 20th century.

This party will be among the highlights of the season and you won’t want to miss it. Tickets for the B.B. King concert and the pre-concert dinner party are priced at only $175 per person or $300 for two. $65 from each ticket is a tax-deductible donation to the Michigan Theater, so it is
a wonderful way to give back to our “shrine to the arts” while enjoying a great evening of music and food.
