Photos of Park Slope’s 16th Street Theater?

BROOKLYN, NY — I grew up across the street, looking directly at the marquee of the 16th Street Theater in Park Slope. It closed when I was around 10 years old. I am now 59 and I would love to have a picture of it.

Is there anyone out there that can help me find one? My email is . Thank You, Joe G.

I could find no images on the Cinema Tour site, so your best bet is to contact the Theatre Historical Society of America via their Ex. Dir., Richard Sklenar, listed on the first page of their web site at: www.HistoricTheatres.org
They have a huge Archive which may have the image you seek. Best Wishes.

THSA is probably your best bet, but you may also want to contact the Brooklyn Public Library and the Brooklyn Historical Society.

Also try NYC.gov. The city took pictures of every bldg. in the late 30’s for tax assessment purposes, and you can now order prints.
