Industry trade magazines needed for research project

posted by BobFurmanek on June 28, 2007 at 7:40 am

We are trying to locate copies of any industry trade magazines (Boxoffice, Motion Picture Herald, Showman’s Trade Review, Hollywood Reporter, Exhibitor, Variety, etc) from the following weeks:

October 3, 1953
November 28, 1953
December 19, 1953
March 20, 1954

We are documenting information related to 3-D motion pictures from this period, and need issues from those weeks in order to complete our research. Any help in finding them would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Bob,

I got no bites from a similiar ad of my own from two weeks back. In case you have no luck, many if not all of these magazines are on microfilm in the NYC Public Library for the Performing Arts and also I bellieve one or more of the public libraries in either Beverly Hills or elsewhere in Los Angeles.

Boxoffice magazine also takes small classified ads.

Hope this helps and also check out Ebay.

Yes — try the Margaret Herrick Library (http://www.oscars.org/mhl/index.html) in Beverly Hills, CA.
