So Tier/Central NY theaters?

posted by Karen Colizzi Noonan on November 4, 2008 at 3:28 pm

In further preparation for the THS reprint of Great American Movie Theaters, we’re planning a “ramble” to theaters in the Southern Tier and Central NY section of New York State in the next couple of weeks. Any suggestions? We plan to stop in Johnson City, Binghamton, Owego and possibly Cobleskill. (Not necessarily in that order.)

Any other out of the way theaters, opera houses or cinemas that we should check out? Remember that they must have shown movies at some point in their history in order to qualify for consideration.

Thanks for any help you all can give!

Hope i’m not too late.

The Park Theatre in Cobleskill is an absolute must, it’s a unexpected treasure in such a small town.

The former Lyric/Towne now the Endicott Performing Arts Center is a wonderful example of a “full circle” existence.

The Tioga theater in Owego is a great small town theatre that has “beaten the odds”.

Thank you Phil. We visited the Tioga – great little theater! My nephew goes to school in Cobleskill and he is a big fan of the Park. We did not get over to Endicott but will certainly put that on our list for a future visit!
