Dolby Processor about to pack it in

posted by popcornn on February 8, 2008 at 7:30 am

Hello-

We have a Dolby CP55 and 2 smart amps(TA-242). We’ve installed 87- 2 Bay Area CP rstr cyan analog readers- 2004

We’re looking for Dolby DA-20 with penthouse reader(s) or newer and 3 more amps and crossover if processor doesn’t provide it.

We’re running a changeover system but moving to platter soon.

Any leads on newer (but used) equipment?

On Ebay right now there is only 2 DTS units and a old Dolby DA10 frame. There are no Dolby DA20’s right now.

thanks. we’re wanting to upgrade our sound anyway, so i’m not being too picky at this point. our system right now seems to have a ‘heartbeat’ when it’s on surround. the heartbeat can still be heard when we turn off the surround sound. digital would be a lot better. i think our stuff is close to 15 years old…

I bought a 700 reader DA20 and CP55 on e-bay for a good price! If you get a DA20 you will need to upgrade the CP55 to Dolby SR\A from its original Dolby A type status or you will not get stereo surrounds.A good technician can perform this.It is worth it for the great improvement in sound to upgrade it.Good luck.
