Local theaters in Minneapolis closing in September

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — While some theaters have been making the jump to digital, others have not been so fortunate. The AMC Block E and the Cottage View Drive-in will most likely not be able to afford the conversion.

I am sure that in the case of the Block E, AMC could certainly afford the conversion, but it is an investment that they are not going to make as the lease is not going to be renewed. The situation at the Cottage View Drive-in is a different story.

The Block E will close on September 23, 2012.
