Theater operators not planning on raising ticket prices for 48 fps showings of “The Hobbit”

Moviegoers can breathe a sigh of relief as exhibitors aren’t expected to raise prices for 3-D 48 fps showings of “The Hobbit”. The number of theaters that will debut this technology will be minimal and the debate will rage on about the value of it.

as it should be the case, that’s ridiculous to think that theaters should increase tix price just because the technology seems to dictate it – good for them.

Well, they did not hesitate to do it (and continue to do so) when digital 3-D came along. I’m surprised at the decision not to do so.
