The one you saw on Broad and Orange is not the original TREAT THEATRE, the original one was demolished in the early 80’s to make way for the new building for the phone company. The owners of the TREAT then moved to where you cand find it now. Now, for the spanish CARIBE moving to the ELWOOD it was on January 1st in 1972 on a saturday. When to see the 1st showing of a double spanish feature. What wonderful memories, it was great.

Your right! It was never called the Puerto Rico. It kept playing spanish movies as the Boulevard till the early 80’s. When it sadly closed. Remember going to see a couple of spanish movies in the mid 70’s. And was very impress with how awsome it looked. Sorry to see it closed and turn in to what it is today.

The Brandford started as a single screen but then was turn into a four screen. I use to go in the early 80’s and they were still playing double features. I would spend almost all day sneaking from one room to another.

Heard from a friend that lives in Belleville that the Capitol was demolished along time ago. Today is just an empty lot.

As far as I can recall. At one time it showed spanish movies around the late 60’s early 70’s , then going to spanish movies on one screen and inglish movies with spanish subtitles on the other until spanish movies faded in the mid 80’s when then they continue to show inglish movies with spanish subtitles. Had lost track of it for a while until recently.

Sorry to say that the Elwood theatre is no more. Demolished in the mid 80’s now has a White Castle on the site. I really hated to see it demolished.
