In response to Dupers earlier post, I would like to sing one of my favorite songs from Carole King…“It’s too late baby now it’s too late…”

Jim,
You should go and have a few cocktails in Villa Park with your ex-Friends. Make a toast to the grand lady…She deserved a better support team.

Duper Supporter. DuPage Dude. Restoration Rita and Unconcerned taxpayer are the same person….Jim Devitt. He does not live in Lombard and has not done anything constructive to save the theatre. These are FACTS!

The library at the Menard’s property is a ridiculous proposal. The library board would never consider something so ridiculous. How many children would be able to walk or ride bikes to that site?

That has to be the most foolish post you have ever made.

Won’t the judge consider all of the time between now and June 2nd as a review period? That would make early December the expiration date of the six month period. Not a lot of time to get a developer to the table.

Wouldn’t the current Library make a wonderful arts center if the Library was moved????

Melders,
There is very little hope for a library/theatre combo plan on that property. The library has stated publicly that they are not interested in sharing the property. The grim news about the financial state of the VOL at yesterday’s board meeting dealt a serious blow to any taxpayer supported plans like the library, theatre, District 87 referendum etc..I foresee the VOL wanting to clear the property and sell ASAP.

I think they already started a petition drive. Last week someone came by. The question was: Do you think the village should A: Demolish the theatre and sell the property or B: Wait until 2007 to allow time for a new restoration plan.

We had to produced our voter registration cards to sign off. Friends in Old Grove said they were polled as well. This took place last weekend.

Let’s just hope the Library doesn’t go “south"as well. That would be a shame.

I remember it as Luigi’s. It was a greasy spoon diner. This was circa 1970-75.

Duper,
I don’t remember Herbie’s. Where was it it located?

DuperJim,
If you are sooooo concerned about Lombard’s Historical District, why did you support a plan to put an 86 unit condominium that violated height and setback codes in the very heart of it???? Doesn’t sound like a very consistent message you people send.

DuperJim, I have another question for you. What have you succeeded in? From what I can see you:
A)Failed to get the necessary support for the theatre (Grade F)
B)Lost what should have been a slam dunk election to Mr. Sebby (Grade F)
c)Failed to get enough petitions signed this summer to counter the demolition resolution (Grade F)
d)The majority of theatre supporters want nothing to do with you thus rendering you a useless man without a cause (Grade F)

Just what accomplishments have you made in life Jim? (Other than embarassing yourself and family)

Yes Jim, I have brushed up on TIF. Thanks to Concerned Taxpayer for informing me that PROPERTY TAXES from the district are used, not sales taxes. Either way, a TAXPAYER funded plan was defeated.

What does the transportation and safety committee have to do with the theatre? Are all of the people that volunteer their time to serve on these committees in a conspiracy to demolish?

If Bob said “I represent the silent majority,” doesn’t that mean he is representative of the silent majority? Show me where he states “I am the leader.” You can’t, because he never said it.

Stop bashing people for doing what they feel is right. This is a democracy we live in. Your side lost the campaign to restore the theatre with tax dollars. That’s the reality of it. Learn to accept it.

One more thing Duper Jim,
You have requested on several occasions for me to produce the evidence of your fraudulent and harassing e-mails to Ms. Warnock. That is the only reason why we wanted to meet with you. You certainly are welcome to come to my house to review them.

Duper Jim,
Why is it you feel Mr. Difino isn’t entitled to express his opinion. Doesn’t he have the right to voice his opinions and ideas? He, like the rest of us on Charlotte Street have more to lose than anyone where this issue is concerned. It’s so typical of you to troll into another website and cut and paste his comments for the purpose of bringing it to this site to attack him. The hypocrisy never ends from you people. People from the pro-restoration side have asked people against the theatre plan not to post on this site. When Mr. Difino complies with the request, your self-proclaimed preservationist Jim DeVitt cut and pastes his comments from another site on to this one and attacks him.

To Jim,
Mr. Difino never proclaimed himself our leader. You did that. You have no idea what it takes to be a leader. Bob stuck his neck out for people who can’t protect themselves, many of them senior citizens. That’s leadership Jim. For you to attack him here is disgraceful.

Challenger is not Steve Sebby. Jim…Please stop. Let the rational people work on this issue. Find something in Woodridge to work on. You are not welcome here. We are all sorry you could not afford the taxes here and had to move. Let us alone.

Jim,
I am not anti-theatre. I am against building developments that violate village code. I am against sexual harassment. In your quest to establish yourself as a hero preservationist, you have crossed the line. I have lived on this block for 58 years. Why do you feel the need to attack people who are only trying to protect their property values. There never was a celebration party. You created it with one of your many internet personalities. THERE NEVER WAS A CELEBRATION PARTY! We will try to reach you next week to show you the e-mails and the evidence that traces it back to you. Hopefully, that will put an end to this foolishness.
