Williame303 – Oh to see OKLAHOMA! in 70mm TODD-AO, SIX TRACK STERO SOUND again! I know they also showed AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, did they show any other 70mm films?

The Tabor Grand Opera House/Caloado was at the Northwest Corner of 16th and Curtis Streets.

Up above they mention that WINDJAMMER was the first film using the new CINEMIRACLE process, which is true. Course it was also the last cause CINERAMA bought them out and ended up showing WINDJAMMER just like other CINERAMA movies.

Nothing is known about what happened to that Robert-Morton Pipe Organ. If you know anything, please email us!

Brown & Megahan ran the Paris Theater and sold it to the Fox Film Corporation in September of 1919. Fox changed the name to Rivioli. In the 1930’s it’s name was again changed, this time to Tivoli.

ISIS is the Egyptian goddess of fertility.

A Mighty WurliTizer Theater Pipe Organ, Opus 21, a 2 Manual/7 Rank was shipped to Fitzhugh & Hall AM CO in Rochester, New York on May 14, 1913. It was repossed, and shipped to this theater on December 16, 1916. Chimes were added on March 6, 1917. It was repossed and shipped to the Isis Theater, Lynchburg, Pennsylvania, on June 28, 1918. It was rebuilt as Opus 174. It is not known what happened to the organ. If you know anything about the organ, please email us!

Some Mighty WurliTzer Theater Pipe Organs must have been “Born under a wondering star”! As best as can be figured out from incomplete 94 year old records, Opus 34 first went out as Opus 16 to an unknown place in Cincinnati, Ohio, was reposessed and then went to this theater. It became Opus 34 and was a 2 Manual/7 Rank and it somehow became Opus 57. At least that’s as best as I can figure it out! At any rate it is not known what happened to the organ.
Opus 1764 was also a 2/7 and it is not known what happened to it either.
If you know anything about what happened to either organ, please email us!

Life’s too short’s entry on the Al Ringling Theater, Baraboo, Wisconsin site on January 7,2006 thinks that the Juliar Theater might have changed it’s name and had 2 screens. Anyone know anything about that?

It was reposessed and went to the Capital now Cox Capital Theater in Macon, Georgia in December of 1925. It then went to a private person in Tucker, Georiga and was “OK” as of November 7, 1975.

Warren – I was wondering if you knew the reason some of the photos fron December 26, 2006, but not all of them and the one from April 20, 2007 state “Photo not found”?

Not a big deal, but the Moller Pipe Organ, Opurs 2952, mentioned twice in the above remarks did not go to this theater, but went to the Tremont Theater(Hamilton). Sorry for my error.

I have also seen this theater listed as MOSS’S TREMONT AVENUE and also the HAMILTON THEATER
This theater was named the Tremont because it was at East Tremont Avenue and Webster Avenue.

A Moller Pipe Organ, Opus 2952, a 3 Manual/17 Rank was installed in 1921, which cost $8,000.00. This would have been installed in between the WurliTzer and Page Organs mentioned above. It is not know what happened to this organ. If you know what happened to any of these organs, please email us!

THIS THEATER SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN LISTED. IT IS LISTED AS THE CAMEO(YORK) THEATER (THESE THINGS HAPPEN)!
DOES CINEMA TREASURES EVER REMOVE A THEATER THAT IS LISTED IN ERROR OR WILL IT JUST BE HERE FOREVER, AND THAT’S A LONG, LONG TIME?

Look at the bottom photo and see how stud lights are set into the building that spell PARIS.
Look at top photo and see how it looks like they covered the PARIS with lots of bulbs which perhaps could make different letters, interesting!

About that Mighty WurliTzer Theater Pipe Organ Ken Roe mentioned above. It was a 3 Manual/13 Rank. In September 1913 the organ was added to and/or altered. Also WurliTizer, Opus 30, a 2 Manual, was shipped to this theater on September 1, 1913 (the same month?). That dosen’t make much sense. It does say “PARIS TH(Mason)” which usually means the theater has changed it’s name, but, I can find no Mason in Denver and don’t feel comfortable asking to have a Mason listed. It was not unusual for WurliTizer to take an old organ and rebuild it, but I’m not so sure that an organ installed in June would be rebuilt in September and why would a 3 Manual be made a 2 Manual? Anyone have any explanations? It is hard to reconstruct an accurate story from incomplete records from 95 years ago!

At any rate as far as I know nothing is known about what happened to these organs. If you know anything about these organs, please email us!

I went to the Website and clicked “PLAY ALL” and had a good time and enjoyed the tour and the music. Makes me want to take a trip down to Leland, Mississippi to see the Highway 61 Blues Museum and Temple Theater.
If you just want to see the Temple Theater go to the Website, click on the museum box and be ready to click on the pause when the theater shows up cause it’s only on for a short time!
