Great cinema teenager’s heaven back in the latter seventies buck fifty a ticket catered to the younger crowd. Went often as a new licensed seventeen year old driver with the girl that would eventually become my wife.

Numerous posts and video on social media, 17 Fed. 2023 interior has been gutted and heavy machinery is pulling the structure down from the rear. Sad the demolition started in the stage area that once hosted Vaudeville acts.

Just read scheduled for demolition Feb 5, 2023 building has fallen in such disrepair it could not be salvaged.

From my recollection the proprietors were Mr. George Lang and his wife Anna.

Was refereed to as the Garlic House. Operated from 1910-1954'ish from my info first called the Grand Theater then renamed Roky in 1928 Started out as a Nickelodeon. The building was owned by Edward Switzer who also operated the Central Hotel in Perth Amboy; he leased the theater to a succession of tenants.
