  • <p>The Newkirk opened on Saturday August 17, 1910 as the T.N.F.Theater(odd name, derived from the owners names; Benjamin Tittle and Henry F. Newberry), became the Newkirk in 1924, undergoing one more renovation with William Hohauser as architect and closing as the Cinema in 1940. From Cesar Del Valle, Theatre Talks.</p>
