I would sometimes forget about the films and gaze at the theatre. The ceiling was as good as it gets!
I had a lot of great times at the Bel-air in the 70’s! Hope they reopen it. All of the theatres of my youth in Chicago are gone. too bad.
I remember seeing a Kung-Fu triple feature at the Alex and a huge rat ran across my feet! It was more entertaining than the films that day and it still makes me smile.
I remember seeing Jaws here and found myself looking around at the theatre and not the film. I miss the great theatres in the loop.
I remembering seeing Dirty Harry at the tiffin. A nice placa long gone.
I had a lot of great times downtown at these long gone theatres.
I went to the McVickers during the Kung-Fu days of the 70’s and I new then that a sad end to another part of history was near
