This was the original Howard Theatre, built by Howard Bland and opened September 1, 1924. In 1940 he opened the Rita Theatre across the street and by 1950 had sold them both to Robb & Rowley-United Inc. who in 1959 renamed the Rita Theatre the Howard Theatre, and closed this Howard Theatre.
