UA Movies at Patchogue 13

Built on the site of the Patchogue Sunrise All Weather Drive-In on Sunrise Highway. Eventually, the drive-in closed in 1986, and they built the Patchogue 13 on it’s site, opening on November 21, 1986.

There were originally less screens in the multiplex, however, they cut a few theaters in half making it currently 13 screens. For the most part the Patchogue’s screens and theaters are fairly small, but had been fairly well kept.

I believe the Patchogue 13 is suffering a bit from the competition of many of the newer and more modern multiplexes now in the area that feature stadium seating, etc, which the Patchogue does not.

UA Movies at Patchogue 13 was closed by Regal in 2007. Signage was removed from the building and it was fenced off. It has since been demolished.

There hasn’t been any developing here and there might not be for a while. I’ve been there and seen a tent for a homeless person. There was little blue flags on one of the piles of concrete and yellow flags by the side where there are developments.

Aerial view uploaded. The dark roof portion is the indoor cinema and refreshment stand of the original All Weather Drive In. The white portion is the add on to create the multiplex.

The pylon is still up advertising the Vineyards, a gated community. However, the entry to the Vineyards is a bit west of the entrance to the former theater. The models at the Vineyards are now open for viewing.

Hello i explored the area today and saw the construction. Alot has been done there are new houses and more being built. The sump has a lot of trash and homeless camps if you keep walking back in the woods there is rusted cars and a deer stand. Lots of trash and other stuff the old metal sign that says no trespassing is still standing. Also there is a sewage pipe and a small dome with 3 chairs and a table. You can enter this side of the lot by going all the way down division avenue off of montauk highway and then make a left at the yellow arrow sign. Look out for a small trail where the new wooden guard rails are. The tunnel is in the top left corner of the sump. Please respond if anyone goes back and explores :)
