The June 10, 1950 issue of BoxOffice noted that, “The Westland Theatre, an 800-seater, was opened at Elk City” in May.

An Elk City history book, found at the Old Town Museum there, said that the Westland Theatre was under construction in late 1949 and was owned by Griffith Theatre and Amusement Company, which also owned the Elk Theatre and the (also under construction) 66 Drive-In Theatre.

My Dad was the manager of the Westland Theatre from about 1953 to 1958 when the company branched out to catv. Among all the old movie theater pictures I found a small box of color slides of the Westland. Some are color versions of the ones in raybradley’s link.

That’s the place. I recommend the barber shop close to the theater if you’re ever in Elk City. Fine haircut I got there.

For everything you always wanted to know about the Westland Theatre, but were afraid to ask, go to below site. In search area type in the word “theatre”. Click on these c1950’s exterior & interior photos for a larger view. This is a Jack Corgan design -

I think the status should be closed. Here are some photos I took in July 2006:
