The Ritz Theatre was opened on February 6, 1929 with Lillian Murray & Co. in a stage presentation “Susie Cinders” and on the screen Patsy Ruth Miller in “Tropical Nights”. It was the second suburban theatre to open in Oklahoma City, after the Victoria Theatre on Classen Boulevard. In the 1940’s it was operated by Paramount Pictures Inc. through their subsidiary Joe Cooper and Warner Bros.
The Ritz Theatre closed around 1955 as a movie theatre, but reopened as the Miracle Theatre by local stage production group, which closed in the 1960’s.

According to research completed on ‘Oklahoman Archives’ web pages, the RITZ Theater opened in 1929. Daily Oklahoman 1928 ads show a nice archetectural drawing of this house, as well as construction photos. It had an atmospheric auditorium with a Spainish interior and exterior. It closed in the mid 1950s, and was razed sometime there after.

The Ritz reopened as the Miracle Theater, a local stage production group, in October 1958. The last act for the successor theater, however, seems to have occurred in October or November 1960.
